Easter baskets are great, but they’d be so much better if you could eat them. With this recipe, you can! They’re perfect little treats for guests and make wonderful school treats as well.
Rice Krispie Easter Basket Treats
- 14 ounce bag sweetened flake coconut
- Green food dye
- 1 jar marshmallow fluff
- 3 cups Rice Krispies
- ½ cup chocolate chips
- Cooking spray
- 24 Jordan almonds
You’ll notice that the recipe is a little bit different from how you typically make Rice Krispies treats, especially if you follow the traditional recipe on the back of the box. If you’d like to follow the original directions you can find them on the My Recipes website. But you can just dive right in and make them the way you typically make them and use a bag of marshmallows, butter, and skip the chocolate chips. You also don’t need to use the Jordan almonds, but can substitute any little egg shaped candy you wish.
I’d also go a step further with the cute factor. I recently stopped in a specialty cake decorating store and was amazed at how cute the cupcake wrappers were. I was especially struck by the cute Easter and Spring ones. Try bright fun wrappers to make your egg baskets extra special.
