Cereal Box Easter Basket

If you’re looking for an easy Easter craft to make with very young children, look no further. This cereal box Easter basket craft can be created with simple household items and is super fun to make. It is perfect for storing Easter eggs found on fun Easter egg hunts. In addition, this charming Easter basket is great for collecting Easter greeting cards. Be sure to help and closely supervise children with the cutting and glue application.



  • Large cereal box
  • Tissue paper in a variety of pastel colors
  • Glue
  • Paint brush
  • Strip of poster board  
  • Stapler


Help children cut the bottom half of a large cereal box as this will serves as the Easter basket.  Using a paint brush, apply glue on the entire outside of the box. You may add a little water to the glue to thin the glue out. Children can then add tissue paper over the box in a pattern or randomly. Allow the Easter basket to dry completely. Next, staple the strip of paper to each side of the box to create the handle. The Easter basket is now ready to be filled with Easter goodies!
