Scratch Art Easter Egg Prints

Easter egg designs are fun and easy to make with kids. Use scratch art to create fabulous Easter egg designs on art paper. Children will have a blast creating designs on an Easter egg by scratching paint to reveal pastel colors underneath.

Materials

  • Crayons (pastel colors)
  • Scissors
  • Art paper
  • Black tempera paint
  • Liquid soap
  • Foam brush
  • Toothpicks


Instructions
Trace a large egg on art paper and cut it out. Ask kids to color the egg completely and to press very hard so that there are no white areas of the paper showing. Help children paint the egg with the paint brush dipped in black tempera paint mixed with a few drops of liquid soap. Allow the paper to dry overnight. Encourage children to use a toothpick to create designs by scratching the paint off of the surface of the egg.
